CPU have had PIE DAY and HOLI FESTIVAL this week

Holi Festival

A spring festival of Hindu, which also known as the festival of colours. Basically is throwing colour powder to everyone and anyone.

We paid RM15 and got ourselves a white t-shirt and four colours of powder (we had more). It took place at the park nearby. People were running around, throwing powder to everyone, splashing water. We had good Bolloywood music and Bollywood dance, I really enjoyed myself although people threw the powder to your face, into your eyes and mouth :| But, ahh, still fun and surely a good experience.

I spent quite some times to clean myself up, it was colour powder everywhere! There are some more on my nails and skin after rubbing and washing for so long...... And I still can smell the flour!

3. CPU Monsters know how to have FUN (1)

Yes, students of CPU are known as CPU Monsters, and we are good at yelling, cheering and clapping. CPU is literally crazy. Teachers are insane, students are insane. Of course, we are crazy and insane amazingly.

We have lots of activities and events going on all the time, basically organized by Student Council and Political parties. Here are some to share~

About the Sleepover, it was really fun, guys, no kidding. Not about the ice breaking, but dinner was my thing precisely- PIZZA PARTY!!!

And the treasure hunt throughout the CPU building was FANTASTIC! These were the KungFu Black Bear: Yi Han, Shumela, Veno, Kareshma, Kenneth, Leo, Hussein and the leader Cross. There are seven floors in the building, and the game is throughout the building. Imagine us running up and down, getting our tasks done, answering the questions and passing all level. We kind of nailed it, the only Marchies got the second place ( we were leading at first though). Third floor was the remarkable one, it was pitch black in the third floor, we had to find a thing and the hint was "light", we were not allowed to use light some more. We spent lots of time there. It was scary, so dark and so many out there, searching for one thing and you couldn't see your teammates, you couldn't even see your fingers though.

 Basically there was no more group activity after that, but there were movies running all night. We spent the whole night playing board games: Bang! and Spendor were my favourite. Really, we played all night.

Then there was Unplugged Night, organized by RAD Culture, a political party in CPU. It was a great night, enjoyed the people singing. The atmosphere was so comfy, dim light, carpet, pillow and good voices, good night instead.

We voted for Mr. Fernando, he got the highest vote at the end. He was kidnapped that day so we got some free time to play Jenga~

There was Drama Festival too~ Bothello was the BOOM! They were all about a Shakespeare's piece, Othello, then they made it into different version: vampire, bothello....

We had Slime Day too. Students and teachers who got top 10 vote were slimed. The slime wasn't that thick like what we expected though.

Lip Sync Battle was totally a BOOM! Laughter and cheering throughout the event. Know what? My Advanced Function lecturer, Mr. Fernando can shake his booty! OMG we were laughing so hard, he did really great job that night.

We pay to vote and attend the event, the money raised usually go to charity or used to run the society.

BUT, do not think that CPU is just about having fun. We do have fun, and we have lots of work to do too. CPU is highly recommended for those people who can WORK HARD PLAY HARD.

2. Becoming A Taylorian

It was a rush decision to register as a March intake. Taking Canadian Pre-U this program is not a decision that I will ever regret, somehow I am so glad that I made it happened.

At first I thought I would be studying at the white and new campus, but that I only realized that I will be taking my course at the CPU building, which is green, and quite...old? I was kind of disappointed because the main campus is so nice, with the learning hub and everything.

Register

On 20 March (Friday), mum and I went to register at the office, picked my course and paid the fee. They no longer supply the Dance subject though. I was so glad that mum was with me, I didn't have to handle these all alone. Made the student ID on the next day.

So ya, I become Taylorian

Orientation 

It was on 23 March, I went to the 7th floor, quite nervous and I saw people, so many different kind of people, what I mean is there were so many different races of people, and people from different countries. I never expect this though. The first person I met was Asper Goh, she was sitting alone so I just sat on the same row with her. Then the next person I met was Jinnie.

It started with brief talk by the principal of CPU, Mr. Jim, then introduction by teachers and admins. We were seperated into groups after that. My frosh leader was Vicky, she had pretty purple-blue hair. And then I met Nithya, an Indian girl, she is so tall no kidding. We sticked together throughout the activities after that. Games and tour around campus, nothing much. There were Ethan, Zi Han, Brandon and Kelvin in the group too. I couldn't remember if there was anymore.

 First day

Sent mum off before I went to school. Then I was all alone. Okay, deep breathe. The first day of college life, what I expect? Nervous not nervous. My Advanced Function classroom is 4.10, I met this Indian girl, Veno before we entered the class. So ya, we sat together. Ethan and Zi Han are in the same class too. Lecturer is Mr. Fernando. He made us introduced ourselves. Nyx was the one who took initiative to introduce himself, then Mr. Fernando picked me as the second one. He called me "Gan Yi", and I added "Han", I just couldn't understand why he called me "Gan Yi". Everyone introduced themselves too. There are Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Indian, Chinese and Malay in my class. But honestly, I couldn't remember much about what they said.

Veno and I went to McD during the period 3 break. We met Ethan and other guys, Afiq, Kenneth... I couldn't remember who else was there. We became a group then.

Chemistry on the 6th and 7th period. Ms. Claire made us played ice breaking game, but I still couldn't remember much about them though. Ms Claire is a kind of funny person, her laughing is funny specifically. 

Ya, I think that's all for the first day.

So my college life started... I hope it will be a great one.

1. How tiny am I?

Decided to start writing blog again after four years, basically because of Kylie that inspired me. I not really know Kylie personally, but I like her, she is best friend of Ethan.

I thought I had an amazing life, I joined all the activities I could, I made variety of friends, I had gone through ups and downs and bring me who I am today, I thought I was kind of "more experienced" person compare to others.

Then I realized, how small I am, how ordinary I am.... compare to the people here...I realized my life is just about me, I did the things for myself, it was just me.

I am not really sure about this idea, but when I look at the people here, they have such amazing and fun life, full of accomplishment and contribution. They have friends for life, the bond is so strong like nothing can apart them. They have fun and meaningful weekends activities. They have good taste and good personalities.

Realizing how small my world is, how failed I am living my life, I feel empty. I was too busy living my own life, achieving my goals, getting my tasks done. Eventually neglected the things and people around me.

What is the thing that keep people together? I don't know, I don't know how people bond together. I tried to join all the gathering, join the conversation, take care of people, help them out, be nice to everyone and do the silly stuff together. But after all, I still feel that I'm so far from them. Then I give myself excuses: you don't have the same tuition with them, so you don't spend that much time together compare to others; you have so many things to be done, you don't have time just to chat and play with them; the topic they talk about is not what you interested in etc....

I do have a lot of friends, but I don't think I have a really close friend, like those you talk about anything, everything together, do things together, be there for each others when you need each others, know what you think what you want. I tried to be this kind of friend to others, but I couldn't get the same thing back. I wonder... Even the "brothers" not so brother after all.

What's the problem? I wonder...

For now, the question is, how to top-up my value, how to be a better me.
I believe I will figure it out.
